KUALA LUMPUR, April 4 — A two-minute clip of the video purportedly showing Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim having sex was uploaded to YouTube yesterday and shared on several pro-Umno blogs.
The 1 minute 47 second clip shows two men and a woman before the alleged sex act.
The video uploaded also has a white strip at the bottom with Thai script written on it.
The strip was not on the version that first surfaced and originally shown to reporters two weeks ago at Carcosa Seri Negara here.
Businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay, one of the three men who claimed to be the mysterious “Datuk T” that exposed the video, told The Malaysian Insider that they had not released the video to anyone and that the only copy remained with the police.
“I don’t know anything about this,” he said, before stating that he would need to see the clip before commenting further.
Opposition Leader Anwar has denied he is the man in the video and accused Umno of a politically motivated “scurrilous attack” on him.
The involvement of former Umno Youth chief Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and Perkasa treasurer-general Datuk Shuib Lazim has lent credence to the claim as Umno sought to distance itself from the video.
The clip has surfaced on the Internet just two days after police said the video they received was not doctored.
The police could not be reached for comment.
During a March 24 press conference, Abdul Rahim said the video was exposed to show “a man who wants to be prime minister is not qualified.”
A recent opinion poll found that 51 per cent of those surveyed did not believe Anwar was the man in the video, with 39 per cent saying Barisan Nasional had masterminded the video — more than twice as many as those who said the ruling coalition was not involved.
